I was commissioned by the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture to paint a mural on a utility box in Boston Chinatown.
My artwork reflects my personal commitment to the balance of city and nature. I often create bold floral designs with rich colors and pair them with buildings and other man-made structures. I love living in downtown Boston and I appreciate human innovation and efficiency, and I also treasure moments spent in the Public Garden and in the dog parks around the city. Through mindful observation of the intersection of our city and the natural world, I have worked to join the two with joyful colors and dynamic lines. My simple and symmetrical approach reflects my connection with my Swedish heritage and the folk art resurgence of The Arts and Crafts Movement at the turn of the 20th century.
Special thanks to Elizabeth and Elaine for helping paint!!
